  This is a beautiful historic restaurant nestled near Port Dalhousie! The building used to be an old diner turned into a rustic Italian cuisine. The food was made to perfection and was very authentic. Perfect for a romantic night out, it is truly a hidden gem!

  The Valley Restaurant has been a favourite haunt of ours for years when we were looking for a "treat". I'm Italian so dining out authentically Italian is a "must" for me and Valley Restaurant has always come through ... except for tonight. My Darling Hubby and son were treating me to my Birthday dinner at my fave place to dine and the introduction to our evening was disappointing. We were greeted at the door with "Reservations?" Somewhat unfeeling and unwelcoming. After 20 minutes at our table we STILL had not been given menus or had an order for cocktails taken. Our server came over to offer glasses of water and I had to ask for menus, a wine list, and because we were so hungry, placed an order for the Tuscan bread. In the meantime, our server had tended to a couple across the room 3 times before she even addressed our table. Upon ordering, I asked, as the menu states at the bottom re substitutions, if I could order gnocchi with my veal Parmesan rather than spaghetti and our server looked as if she'd been struck by lightening! I was accommodated eventually. There was absolutely no interaction between our server and us. She obviously wanted to be any place else but at the Valley Restaurant. The food & wine were superb, as usual. The service was slack, inattentive, delayed and impersonal. Very disappointed in that regard. Bobbie Diamond

  Love the atmosphere at Valley Restaurant and the food is great and service excellent. Now under new management for the last few months I was surprised at some of the reviews and learned they were posted prior to owners of Cafe Amore taking over. Read the Reviews for Cafe Amore, you will find the same great food and service at Valley Restaurant with the new dedicated owners and their expertise in providing a great dining experience.

  Had dinner here with my wife celebrating a belated anniversary. The restaurant is small and intimate with a very friendly staff and an old world atmosphere. It actually felt like we were on vacation somewhere. Prices are slightly higher than average but the food is deliciously prepared fresh. I recommend Valley Restaurant as your primo choice for Italian cuisine.
